The Allstars played Team New England for their first game tying 2-2. The stands were packed with NHL scouts and Division I schools. Team England who eventually won the whole tournament had 7 players listed for the NHL draft and a plethora of Division I commitments. The Allstars started out slow and took some penalties in the first half but Dean Klemenz was outstanding between the pipes in the first half. The Allstars went into the second half of the game down 2-0. The Allstars killed off 3 penalties in a row in the earlier part of the second half and gained momentum improving their play shift by shift putting good pressure on Team New England. The Allstars went on the power play and Chris Wille buried a puck in front of the net receiving a nice pass from Anthony Farina and Matt Gillen. The Allstars fed off this goal and carried play for the next few shifts. Team New England got frustrated by the Allstars’s intensity and pressure proceeding to take two penalties.
