97's Win in Montreal!
Team 97 found a way to bring home the hardware again this past weekend, posting a 6-0-0 record and winning the Montreal Minor Hockey World Championship tournament in Repentigny, Quebec.

Despite the appalling news that two of the parents vehicles had coincidentally been stolen within 12 hours (one brazenly taken right from the rink parking lot during a 2pm game), the kids were able to put the anxiety aside and focus on what they were there to do - play hockey.

Coaches Corriveau, Sliker, and Carangelo have had nothing but praise for the team:

"We were just very sound positionally," Coach Corriveau commented afterwards, "The kids were extremely smart with the puck." He continued to happily add, "We were in possession more often than not and that was due to our teams speed and willingness to forecheck. We moved the puck really well...their teamwork and lack of selfishness is astonishing. Probably most impressive though, is our ability and determination to play in both ends, getting their heads down and backchecking with such tenacity. And on those rare occasions that we committed a turnover or had a breakdown, goalies Matty Kricheli and Mikey DePhillips came up big."

With 43 goals for and only 5 against in the six games, both offense and defense had something to celebrate!

A Special THANK YOU to Big John our team bus driver for getting us to and from each game and back to the USA safe and sound!

Next stop for the boys is the Ronald McDonald Tournament June 8 in Toronto.
