Santo Macalsuo is a young energetic coach that brings a lot passion and knowledge to the table. Involved with coaching youth hockey on Long Island since 1999, Santo has developed many players at the Bantam and Midget age and has prepared them for the next level. Santo has taken many teams to the New York State Championships and presently coaches the 1992 Long Island Gulls Bantam Minor team, a vastly improved up start team in the Atlantic Hockey League. Santo has been recognized by many in the area as an up and coming coach, whose teams always compete at a high level are very discipline and have a strong knowledge of the game.

In the past Santo was chosen by the New York Islanders to be the head coach of one of the "New York Islanders Young Guns Top 40" a team consisting of the top 40 players on Long Island at the 1988 and 1987 birth year. This team competed in a top level show case where many Division 1 and USHL scouts attended. Santo also runs summer hockey schools for the Long Island Gulls as well as many skill clinics through out the year. Santo was named the Long Island Gulls Coach of the Year in 2003.

Playing Midget and Junior Hockey on Long Island for such coaches as John Tonelli and Joe Liquori, Santo has developed his own unique coaching style that has proved to be very successful. The one thing Santo puts heavy emphasis on above and beyond winning is development, his goal is to give every player a stronger knowledge of the game and to make sure every player finishes the year a better more responsible hockey player and more importantly a responsible young man.

Tuition for the 1992 team is $900 per player and includes Training Camp and 3 Tournaments.

This coming summer the Chowder Cup will consist of 40 teams and the Pre-Draft will be comprised of 24 teams. Entries will come from the United States, Canada, Siberia, Latvia, and Belarus. A 16 team Junior Chowder Cup is also being planned for players 15 and 16 years old

This tournament in Toronto, Ontario is always extremely popular and continues to have a tremendous response from top summer teams across the USA and Canada. Over 200 teams participated last year!

This is the 14th annual spring tournament that has clearly established itself as the most elite in North America. Prospects secretly scout and identify who the top players are and then only allow teams into the events that are comprised of those top end players. The proof is in the players and with Prospects alumni total over 500 NHL draft choices, over 900 NCAA players, over 600 USHL competitors and some 1400 CHL combatants.
