Darren Seid grew up in Long Island, NY. After attending the University of Wisconsin, he returned to Long Island to enjoy his time giving back to the game. His youth career consisted of 2 Tier 1 New York State championship titles and a Tier 1 National Championship title. While playing Junior "A" hockey in the EJHL for the New York Apple Core, Seid was scouted to play at the University of Wisconsin. Darren's playing career came to a halt after a surgery led to him being sidelined before his collegiate career ever began. Coaching took over for 4 years, before he made a return to on ice duties in the MAHL.

Seid began coaching with the Long Island Gulls Organization in 2004 and went on to coach the Bantam Icecats 90-91; "AAA" Bantam Major Gulls 91; "AAA" Midget Major Gulls 90, 89, 88; "AAA" Bantam Minor Gulls 93; and most recently assisted with the "AAA" Midget U16 American team before leaving to take a position as Player / Assistant Coach in the MAHL, with the Mon Valley Thunder.

This is his third season with the 1994 Atlantic All Stars.
