His playing career saw many highlights among them was his 36 goal season with Hartford in 1984 and his trip the the 1986 Stanley Cup semi-finals as a member of the New York Rangers.
Bob is part of the legendary Crawford family who were immortalized in the best selling book "Ice Time".
Among Bob's family coaching throughout North America is his brother Marc who was recently head coach of the LA Kings and Vancouver Canucks in the NHL and was the head coach of the Colorado Avalanche during their 1996 Stanley Cup win.
Bob coaching career has seen him win multiple championships and has seen him transform the Connecticut Junior Clippers into one of the top programs in the nation with over 100 of his players graduating to NCAA Division 1 and 3 college hockey. The Junior Clippers have had two national tournament showings and in 2000 the Clippers finished 3rd and won the USA National Championship and the following season. Winner of the AJHL Coach of the year award in 2004, Bob was most recently honored to be selected as a coach for the USA Hockey Select 18 National team that won bronze in Canada in 2006.
These extensive connections Bob has developed through his NHL playing days and family hockey tradition gives his players and parents valuable insight into the hockey world's latest techniques and opportunities. This combined with his ability to successfully teach the knowledge he learned from his playing and coaching experiences is why his players benefit from him and enjoy playing for him so much.
